Apple to launch iPhone mini, could flaunt an affordable price tag – India Today

Apple is tipped to launch its upcoming iPhones for 2020 in the coming weeks, and ahead of its launch there are a number of rumours which point towards the series bringing with itself an iPhone 12 mini. As per the latest reports, the smallest in the iPhone 12 series would be called the iPhone 12 mini and this one could be the fourth phone in the line-up.

The iPhone mini could learn a few tricks from the iPad mini and Mac mini and feature a more compact form factor for an already popular device. The news has been revealed by tipster L0vetodream who suggested the existence of the iPhone 12 mini earlier this week. In a tweet posted by him, he spoke of four new iPhone models, the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

As per leaks, the iPhone 12 mini would be available in a 5.4-inch size, while the iPhone 12/ iPhone 12 Pro would be bigger at 6.1-inch and iPhone 12 Pro Max even bigger. There are also suggestions that the iPhone 12 mini could be inspired by the iPhone SE 2020 when it comes to design. According to other reports, the iPhone 12 Mini will be available at a much lower cost than other iPhones, as it will be sold for around $700.

Apart from this, other reports in the past have said the iPhone 12 won’t come with support for super-fast 120Hz refresh rate displays. The reason here appears to be battery life which Apple believes could take a hit on the phone if the company adds 120Hz panels on the iPhone 12.

Apart from this, the iPhone 12 series of phones are all but confirmed to house Apple’s latest A14 Bionic chipsets under the hood. More on the phones should be known in the coming weeks, as we approach the launch date of the iPhone 12 phones.
