Apple TV+ renews animated musical Central Park for third season

Central Park returns to Apple TV+ on June 25 for a second season. And Apple also revealed on Wednesday that this Emmy-nominated music comedy is definitely getting a third season.

The show centers on the Tillermans, a family of caretakers that live in New York City’s famous Central Park. They must fend off attempts by a developer to bulldoze the park into condos. While signing and dancing. It’s kind of zany.

Season one has a 94% critics’ pro val rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The review on RogerEbert.com said, “Apple TV’s Central Park is a glorious gift for comedy and musical fans and, well, everyone.”

Warm up for Central Park season two

Beyond the new “Weehawken Rap” song, Apple gave fans of Central Park a hint of what’s coming up in season two:

“Molly experiences the trials and tribulations of adolescence, Cole is challenged by a truly embarrassing moment at school, Paige continues to chase down the mayor’s corruption story, and Owen juggles managing the park, his staff and his family all with a smile on his face. Meanwhile, Bitsy inches ever closer to her sinister goal of claiming Central Park as her own; with Helen by her side, eternally wondering whether she’s made it into Bitsy’s will. Every step of the way, we are guided along by our friendly, fumbling, fiddler narrator, Birdie.”

The complete first season of Central Park is now streaming on Apple TV+. Season two will premiere globally Friday, June 25 on Apple TV+, and new episodes will premiere weekly every Friday. And a third season is on the way.
