As soon as Apple iPhone 12 hit retail shelves last year, rumors related to iPhone 13 started circulating online. A recent report claims that the iPhone 13 series will finally get high refresh rate screen. To implement 120Hz, Apple will be using energy-efficient and faster switching LTPO backplane – just as Samsung’s Galaxy Note20 Ultra and the recent Galaxy S21 Ultra.
Ming-Chi Kuo, TFI Securities analyst, predicts that the iPhone 13 lineup will have the same four models similar to the iPhone 12 series – iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Mini, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Both the Pro models of the iPhone 13 series are reported to feature an OLED display based on an energy-efficient LTPO back plain. The screen is said to support 120Hz refresh rate and have a yet smaller notch.
A research note of Kuo obtained by MacRumors hints that the iPhone 13 series is likely to retain the lightning connector and include Qualcomm Snapdragon X60 modem. The 13-lineup could get heavier as Apple will be using a bigger battery this generation. The analyst claims that only the Pro model will get the LiDAR Scanner.

Sources explain that Apple could use the sensor-shift image stabilization module from iPhone 12 Pro Max for each model of the 13-series. The ultra-wide camera sensor could get a wider ƒ/1.8 aperture and autofocus, unlike iPhone 12’s ƒ/2.4 aperture.
We may not witness any iPhone SE until the first half of 2022, said the TFI Securities analyst.
