Fans of psychological thrillers should get ready to tune in to Losing Alice, which will debut on Apple TV+ in early 2021.
It’s one of many thrillers the streaming service currently has in development.

Apple says, “Losing Alice follows an aging director, Alice, and her growing obsession with a young screenwriter whose dark, troubling script appears to be more truth than fiction.“ The series explores jealousy, guilt, fear of aging, and the complex relationships between women. It stars Ayelet Zurer as Alice and Lihi Kornowski as the screenwriter femme fatale, Sophie.
The first season of this show aired on HOT in Israel. But Apple TV+ will exclusively stream it worldwide starting Friday, January 22. There are eight episodes.
Getting a show that already played is an unusual move for Apple. Virtually all its other content in original. But when the COVID-19 pandemic shut down TV production, the Mac-maker made a couple of deals. One of those is bringing Losing Alice to Apple TV+, and the other resulted in Tehran, which debuted on the service in September.
Apple TV+ producing plenty of thrillers
Earlier in 2020, this streaming service gave a series order to Shining Girls, a metaphysical thriller that’ll star Emmy Award winner Elisabeth Moss. And straight-to-series order to Echo 3, an action-thriller from Mark Boal, who picked up multiple Oscars for writing The Hurt Locker. Or there’s Suspicion, a thriller starring Uma Thurman. And the streaming service acquired the movie rights to an adaptation of graphic novel Snow Blind, starring Jake Gyllenhaal. Again, it’s a thriller.
