Black Shark 4 video teardown explores its insides

Today’s a big day for Xiaomi-backed gaming-oriented smartphone brand Black Shark. First off, the Black Shark 4 is now available for pre-order globally, starting at just $499. And second, there’s a teardown video out for those of you who love to see a phone from the inside.

Zach from JerryRigEverything initially subjected the handset to his trademark ‘durability’ test last week, and it turned out that this was the first gaming phone of the year to not snap in two or three pieces when bent. Not just that, but it’s also the cheapest so far.

But, if you’re wondering how that translates into the inside of the device, this is the video for you.

To get in, softening up the adhesive is a must, but plastic backs like this are easier to remove than when glass is used. Perhaps the most interesting bits are those that make the magnetic physical pop-up trigger buttons work. We also discover that there’s a dedicated speaker up top, separate from the earpiece. Unsurprisingly the battery is made up of two cells, otherwise it wouldn’t reach those crazy fast charging speeds.
